Severe Weather Warnings: Rain

Date

issued by the Metoffice at
   09:05, 31.08.2025

valid from
   03:00, 01.09.2025
until
   10:00, 01.09.2025

Region: Strathclyde

Warning

Heavy showers will become frequent across the area overnight and into Monday morning. Accumulations of 15-30mm are expected quite widely across the warning area, but where repeated heavy showers fall, a few places could see 40-50mm. This would be sufficient to bring surface water flooding to some locations for the morning rush hour. What Should I Do? Check if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit. Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary. Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning

Chief Forecaster
